The Lighten-Up scientific weight loss program is a culmination of 30 years of work in biochemistry, exercise physiology, thermodynamics and other interrelated disciplines. This "no-gimmicks" program targets people who truly want to lose weight correctly.
ASSESSMENT
We use the most sophisticated technology available to determine body composition, cardiopulmonary fitness (target heart rate), resting and exercise metabolic rate. Additionally, a computerized analysis of caloric intake will complete a metabolic profile that will be the basis for the construction of your tailored program. We use this information to create a custom exercise prescription ultimately designed to get you healthy
Assessment tests include:
Resting Metabolic Rate:  Determines daily calorie intake requirements.
Cardiopulmonary Test (VO2 Max):  Establishes target heart rate for exercise.
Hit Fit Evaluation:  Measures Strength balance and body composition. Establish goals.
TREATMENT
Nutritional counseling, weight tracking, and exercise are the keys to the success of your program. Using the results of the Assessment phase we implement your exercise program creating caloric deficit. This results in tilting your metabolic/thermodynamic equations to your advantage ensuring weight loss.
REASSESSMENT
Systematic reassessment of body composition, caloric expenditure, and metabolic adjustments will serve to continually adjust the program to create consistent and steady weight loss.

I decided in late 2009 that I was going to make 2010 the year that I finally, REALLY stick to a plan to achieve my goal of getting fit.
