The HIT Center has been a saving grace for me. When I went away to college I gained a lot of weight. Actually I went to 2 colleges and I think I gained the freshmen 15 at both. I wasn’t used to having to work out on my own and no coach yelling at me to run everyday. By the time I finished school at Gainesville in December, I was at my all time low and very depressed about my appearance. My dad told me about the HIT Center because my brother started working out there for football. He knew I needed to get on a program and someone to push me. I have now been at the HIT Center for over a year and I am so sad to leave. I have lost some weight, I feel great and I am ready to go out on my own. I have made so many friends at the HIT who have become like my second family and I would like to say thank you to them for helping me.

“I originally went to the HIT Center because my husband’s athletes trained there and I was curious about what professional athletes did to stay in shape. I have been involved in some sort of physical training over the years but never achieved the results I wanted. After meeting with my trainer I realized I didn’t have to be a professional athlete to get great results. The HIT Center took my training to another level and I lost 15 lbs: 6.5% body fat and went from a size 8 to a size 4. I feel great and I am in the best shape I have ever been in.”

But none of it compares to what the HIT Center can do... I was impressed by the scientific approach The HIT Center took to achieving my goals. The numbers don't lie and it was obvious that despite all of the miles I'd ridden, the kilometers I'd run, and the weights I'd lifted, I could be getting more out of it... On their logo it says 'when you're done playing games,' but I think it should say, 'Harder than it looks... How hard is it? You can fake your way through anything, but if you follow the routine as designed, you'll see results... Upon joining the HIT Center in November 2005, my main objectives were to lose 125 pounds, get fit and healthy, and to run 1 mile. To-date, I have lost 51 pounds, averaging a steady 2.5 pounds a month; my blood pressure dropped from 173/118 to a fairly consistent normal of 120/80; my blood glucose dropped 29 points to a normal 96 (I was one point away from being diagnosed with Type II Diabetes); the pain in both my knees has disappeared; I am no longer breathless when climbing a flight of stairs, and I can now jog 3 miles – challenging but doable. It has not been difficult for me to maintain this weight loss. My appetite is much less than it used to be and food cravings are pretty much non-existent. I eat well and enjoy life.
I am 62 years of age and I can’t remember a time when I have felt more fit, healthier, and this happy about myself. With the ongoing support and encouragement from my personal trainer, from all the staff, and from other clients, (it’s sort of like Cheers where everyone knows your name), I would not be feeling as good as I do today as every aspect of my life is better, which I would not have believed possible 51 pounds ago. Every workout session challenges me just a little more than the previous one, and more importantly, they are actually fun. My personal trainer is my challenger, my confidant, my cheerleader and a dear friend. I am so grateful to have her and the HIT Center in my life.

“Mark has been consistently coming to the HIT Center for about 5 months
And has lost 5% of body fat and gained 4% lean muscle mass. He lost about 14 pounds of fat and gained about 13 pounds of muscle.
His blood pressure and blood sugar are now controlled and at regular levels, due to the consistency in his diet and exercise.

The HIT Center gives me the hardest most intense workout I have ever tried, and I am not one of the really great athletes the come to HITS, but I hope no one feels intimidated by all the great athletes the use the HITS Center, because anyone, regardless of their fitness level can come in and work hard and start seeing results. When I started I was at a very poor fitness level and my health had become an issue. After a few weeks I started to see and feel the results and I am very happy with my results and I know that I will continue seeing my health and fitness improve as I continue on with this program. I could never duplicate the workout or the effort I give without Brooke pushing and encouraging me to work just a little harder. The other Trainers and staff are also their to help or just give you a little more motivation and telling you that your doing good.

I decided in late 2009 that I was going to make 2010 the year that I finally, REALLY stick to a plan to achieve my goal of getting fit. I knew about the HIT center from a few years ago and had heard through word of mouth about results people were achieving. The motto of the HIT CENTER, “When you’re done playing games”, really appealed to me because it seemed as if I was really “playing” at trying to achieve results for quite a while. I figured out that what was going to work for me was the accountability of one on one training along with a program proven to get results. The entire approach of science, technology and testing to develop “MY” program is definitely what I needed!
Since working with my trainer, Kyle Lundy, for the past two months, I have lost weight, gotten more fit, and definitely have more strength and endurance. In addition, my blood pressure is more stable and I am sleeping better. Kyle has a really special way of pushing me which I really do appreciate. He has gotten to know me and understands my limitations as well as how much to push to maximize my capabilities. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Kyle for the rest of the year and am very excited about continued results.

The HIT Center came into my life and I have to tell you that it is the best thing I ever did for myself. I thought that I was in pretty good shape before I even went over there. Boy was I wrong. Anyone that has ever gone to a regular gym understands why the HIT Center and having a personal trainer makes a world of difference. Not only are you taught technique, but they are training the whole body methodically. They also bolster your spirit with a very friendly atmosphere. But most of all they push you beyond what you ever thought you could do.
I personally think of it as an investment to my physical well being. The bonus is that it has been an investment in my mental well being as well.

“Last December I was determining what would be my 2005 goals and decided on one! To get into the best shape of my life. I made the choice I could no longer live with being over weight, out of shape and just plain miserable with myself. I decided it was time to make some life changes and The Hit Center has been a very crucial part of my plan.
I work with Bev Yoap and was impressed with her results. Bev introduced me to The Hit Center, I scheduled an appointment with you and the testing began. Through the testing, I found out how badly I was out of shape, which made me more determined to meet my goals.
The work out sessions the first 2 weeks were very, very hard but soon I noticed I was getting stronger, even though losing real weight took more time. It is nice to be able to schedule the testing and Bod Pod's when you want to, to be able to measure your results! I also did not kid myself in that I knew changing my eating habits would be critical to getting the best results. Now those eating habit changes are a way of life for me and I don't think about it much any more.
6 months into the program I have lost 30 lbs from my highest weight, and have dropped 4 dress sizes and I am probably in the best shape of my life! I can't wait to see the results of the next 6 months! I appreciate the encouragement, friendliness, creativity and professional of all the trainers and management staff at The Hit Center.

"“In December 2003, I finally reached a point in my life where I knew I had to make a life change. I was severely overweight and I could no longer ignore it. I had tried all the various diets, Weight Watchers, Atkins, Sugar Busters, you name it, and all without success. I would lose 5 pounds one week and then gain 10 pounds the next. I found an article on the HIT Center. After I read the article, I was sure I had found the answer to my weight problem. The HIT Center uses sophisticated computerized equipment to measure each clients stats, i.e. body mass, target heart rate, resting metabolism. From this information an exercise program was designed specifically for me, and they provided me with nutrition counseling to keep me within my calorie limits. The entire HIT Center staff is top-notch. In 7 months I have lost 50 pounds, significantly reduced by body fat and increased muscle, went from size 20 to size 16 pants (and the 16’s are now very baggy on me). I feel better than I have in years. I have more energy, and my doctor has been able to reduce and/or eliminate some of my medications. Thanks to everyone at the HIT Center. Because of you, I am much less a woman than I used to be! Fifty pounds less, and I’m still losing.”

I was an average athlete (at best) in high school, but I did manage to play two years of football and baseball at a very small college. What skills I do have click for me in the sport of racquetball. I have had consistent success at both state and regional levels of competition, but never quite reached an “elite” player status.
I NEVER took my training seriously. My work schedule and family commitments make for convenient excuses, but the reality is that training is not fun and it’s easy to rationalize that more court time is more productive. Recently, I stepped my game up to the national level of competition and to my surprise, I can hang with the “Big Boys”. The only problem is that “lack of serious training” approach doesn’t cut it at this level of play.
A friend of mine told me about the unique training he was doing at Jacksonville’s HIT Center. After my first visit, I quickly realized that this is not your daddy’s workout. The training is tough and challenging, but the results have been well worth the effort. In addition to trimming some excess LBS, I have noticeably improved my speed, strength, agility, and endurance on the court.
My trainer (George) gets everything I’ve got every single session…AND THEN SOME! My improved conditioning has improved my execution. Now if I miss a critical shot, it isn’t because there’s no gas left in my tank.
If you are looking for that extra edge, you really need to check this place out! But be warned- you better bring your “A” game!
